- A race is set before us.
- Run that you may obtain.
- Anyone who striveth for mastery is temperate in all things
- Do not look at others' life and run.
- Control your anger, lust and run.

- Slow to speak, slow to wrath, swift to hear (James 1: 19)
- Lay aside all weight and sins (Heb. 12: 1)
- Present your body as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God. (Rom. 12: 1)
- Run this race not with uncertainty
- Fight not as one that beateth the air.
- Discipline your body and bring it to subjection.
- A race is set before us.
But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
