Bible Passage: Exodus 33: 14
And He said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
God used Moses, His servant to deliver His people from Egypt. Then Moses started to lead God's people in the wilderness. God was with them and led them by the pillar of clouds and pillar of fire. They reached Sinai.
God told them to move out from Sinai. But Moses knew well that the people are stiff-necked and disobedient. So he pleaded God to give him assurance that His presence should go before him (Exo. 33: 12) .
Knowing the heart of Moses God promised him that His presence will go before him and He will give rest to him.
In our life also when we are facing problems which we cannot solve, we also have to plead with God and get assurance. We should also live in the presence of God. If you do, you'll have protection and victory.
If you want His presence, you have keep all His commandments.
Leviticus 26: 12 - And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.
God always wants to live among His people. If God should dwell amidst us,
1. Do not make idols
2. Do not worship idols
3. Consider the Sabbath day
4. Have reverence about His sanctuary
If you follow His statutes, commandments and keep yourself holy, then God will bless you and fill us with all essentials and thrust us with and the necessities (Lev. 26: 5)
Matthew 18: 20 - For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.
He has promised already so you have to experience God's presence in our personal life. If we bind anything, it will be bound. If we loose anything, it will be loosened. Heaven will approve our words (Mat. 18: 18)
Example - Acts 20
When Paul was preaching in the night there was a man called Eutychus. Paul was preaching for a long time and Eutychus fell asleep and since he was sitting at the window he fell down and died. But Paul brought the young man alive again. This is the power of God. If we have God's presence with us, definitely we'll do mighty things.
When Moses died Joshua was called to lead the people. But Joshua wanted assurance to take responsibilities from God.
God's presence is essential. So be in the presence of God
Finally, God is expecting from us implicit obedience. Unless we do God's perfect will, God cannot give His presence with us. Be obedient to God and He will thrust His blessings upon you.
