Bible Passage: Mathew 3: 7
But when He saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to His baptism, He said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
• John the Baptist was not afraid of what he preached
• Bear fruits worthy of repentance
• Some bear sweet and bitter fruits
• But a true baptized believer will always bear only sweet / good fruits
Psalm 58: 5 - Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely
Four things we should flee from:
- 1 Corinthians 6: 18 – Flee from Fornication
James 4: 4 – Friendship of the world (adultery) - 1 Corinthians 10: 14 – Free from idolatry
Ephesians 5: 5 – Cannot inherit Gods kingdom - 1 Timothy 6: 9 – Flee from hurtful lust
Mathew 23: 23 – Justice, Faith, Mercy - 2 Timothy 2: 22 – Flee from youthful lust
1 Timothy 4: 12 – Be example for the believers
Wrath of god is going to come, to escape be sober and pray always.
