Bible Passages

Luke 13: 6 - 9

“And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.” Luke 13: 9

Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13: 3, 5)

John the Baptist said, bring forth therefore fruits meets for repentance (Mat. 3: 8)

Therefore, repent and bear fruits.

Here in the above parable, Church is vineyard. We people of God (believers) are fig tree

God has planted us as a fig tree in His vineyard to bring forth fruits. Never disappoint God who has planted you in this Vineyard.

Owner is God. Keeper is

        • Holy Spirit (Rom. 8: 26) and Jesus (Heb. 4: 15)
        • Servants of God (Eph. 4: 11, 12)

Owner comes every year to see if the fig tree (you) is bearing fruits. And seeing it not bearing fruits, He is telling the keeper to axe the fig tree as it was not bearing fruits but also cumbered the ground?

But the Keeper is interceding to the owner.

The Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for

      1. Doctrine
      2. Reproof
      3. Correction
      4. Instruction in righteousness

Therefore, repent from your sins, and bear fruits.

This is the will God concerning you – ‘bear fruits’. If you do not bear fruits then he would axe you soon and pluck you off from His vineyard.
