Bible Passage: Joshua 23: 8
But cleave unto the Lord your God, as ye have done unto this day.
Joshua the leader of Israel called all Israel at his old age. He said to the congregation,
Hitherto God has been with us and has been helping us. He drove away all the enemies from before us. So you people hold fast on Him. Then He will continue to help us.
Hold fast,
1. Following God
2. Keeping and doing all that is written in the book of the law of Moses.
If you do this definitely God will be with you and He will fight for you. You will experience rest. No one will stand before you.
Joshua 23: 10 - one man shall chase a thousand.
You might be alone. But God says, you will chase a thousand. If you stand with God, He will stand with you.
Joshua 23: 11 - Love your God (With all your mind, soul and strength)
If you love Him then your enemies will summarily destroyed.
Joshua 23: 12, 13 - But if you follow the culture of the world,
1. You will not drive the remaining few enemies.
2. They shall be snares and traps unto you.
3. There will be scourges in your side
4. There will be thorns in your way.
Hebrews 4: 14 - Let us hold fast our profession.
Hebrews 4: 15 & 16
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
